DEPARTMENT OF NATURE CONSERVATION
In the face of wildlife loss, accelerated by climate change and habitat degradation, it is of paramount importance for a country like Rwanda aspiring to boost wildlife conservation and tourism; to have trained and qualified personnel ready to deal with such a challenging issue. It is in that regard that IPRC KITABI initiated its first diploma course in Wildlife Management delivered under the Department of Nature conservation
This department is the oldest of all departments at IPRC KITABI. Started in 2008 as Department of Wildlife Management (DWM), this department continues to attract conservation practitioners and students from a broad range of fields across the Albertine Region. The uniqueness of the department lies in its focus on equipping students with practical hands-on skills underpinned by a competence-based learning approach.
